Inulin - Prebiotic Action
Inulin is a prebiotic because it resists digestion in the upper gastrointestinal tract and is fermented in the colon, promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria such as bifidobacteria. This fermentation improves gut health by modulating the microbiota and contributing to important metabolic functions.
Procyanidins B2 - Anti-inflammatory action
Procyanidins are polyphenolic compounds with antioxidant and cardioprotective properties, found in foods such as grapes, apples and dark chocolate, as well as beverages such as red wine and some teas. They help improve cardiovascular health by promoting blood vessel elasticity and reducing blood pressure. Like tannins, procyanidins cause an astringent sensation when they interact with salivary proteins.
Total tannins - Antioxidant action
Tannins are polyphenolic compounds found in various plants and are known for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. Found in fruits such as green persimmons and grapes, as well as beverages such as red wine, black tea and coffee, tannins play an important role in the flavor profile of these foods and contribute to health.
Nobiletin - Neuroprotective action
Nobiletin is a flavonoid found in the peels of citrus fruits, such as oranges and tangerines, with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties. It protects cells from oxidative stress, regulates cholesterol and glucose levels and may protect neurons against neurodegenerative damage, benefiting nervous system health and cognitive function. Other foods with similar flavonoids include lemon and grapefruit.
